VAS Application for Bottom of the Pyramid

I was wondering what are the kind of VAS applications the bottom of the pyramid would love to have apart from ringtones and song downloads. 

In my opinion the biggest gap between urban and others is the "access to information". Anyone who is trying to solve this problem for rural and tier-2 users will benefit in the long run. 

There is a need to interconnect these rural people using a social network based on their interest and problems they face and enable an intelligent connect between these rural users. This should be similar to facebook or twitter in mobile world. 

For example a rural user in Bihar wants to know the wages of an NREGS scheme. the answer to this question maynt be in Bihar but it could be with a rural user in Andhra Pradesh. The solution would be to find an appropriate answer from the mobile social database and feed this information to the language asked by the rural user. This would empower the rural user to find answer to various questions related to livestock and agriculture issues over phone. 

One neednt think of an intelligent database system, the answer could come to a rural educated youth who are equipped with access to these information and they provide the information back to the end user. this would not only empower information but also create a new rural employment opportunity for youth in tier-2 and rural areas...
