Hail Indian Railways - Platform Ticket Using SMS

We all know that railways undergone a sea change over last 5-6 years by adopting the internet as vehicle to reach out the public for better services. Yesterday in bangalore city station i witnessed yet another revolution in railways in issuing the platform ticket.

this is quite useful for people who struggles to get change (coins) for buying platform ticket from automatic ticket issuing machine.

All we need to do is to send an SMS to a pre-defined operator number. The operator sends a confirmation code which we need to input in a computer in front of us and this would provide a platform ticket. Absolutely no cash transaction.

Currently AIRTEL and BSNL subscribers can benefit from this facility

Guys, try this out next time if you are going to bangalore city station.
